Our client is looking for Shift Manager to support the vision of their company to provide homeowners around the world with a quality roofing product, by using the very best New Zealand raw materials in our production and then doing business with them as if they are family through managing the night shift team to ensure the production and manufacturing of lightweight roof tiles is to a consistently high level of quality.

We recognise that maintaining the highest possible standards of health and safety whilst complying with all relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and safe operating procedures is a key management responsibility and a measure of our success as an organisation. In fulfilling these aims, we recognise the value of employee consultation and participation in processes relating to health and safety in the workplace including their recommendations on health and safety issues. We are therefore committed to regular consultation with workers & their elected health & safety representative as to ongoing improvements.

All Managers will be accountable for the following duties:

To comply with all relevant legislation.
To provide and maintain a Safety
Management System for continuous improvement in OHS management.
To provide and maintain safe plant and systems of work.
To identify, assess and manage significant hazards and monitor continuing effectiveness.
To designate OHS roles and responsibilities at all levels, and recognize excellence and initiative in OHS performance.
To assist all injured employees back to full and gainful employment by arranging rehabilitation assistance in conjunction with the employee, family members and treatment providers through our early return to work policy.
To ensure all incidents and injuries are accurately recorded, reported and analysed for trends.
To provide training in safe methods and ensure management competence in health and safety.
To provide managers, supervisors and employee safety representatives with annual training in advanced OSH management to assist their roles.
Ensure all current and new procedures and products comply with the Health, Safety and Environment checklist


Competencies, Skills and Experience required for the job:

Experience – 7 to 10 years Production/Manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 3 yrs in Supervisory roles
People management skills
Solid communication skills – verbal and written
Strong planning and organizing skills
Excellent customer relations skills
Strong computer skills
