We are looking for a park manager to take responsibility for the day to day management and operation of the outside component of Staglands. This is a broad and challenging role that requires a person with good practical skills, who is also able to interact well with a wide range of people. Good verbal and written communication skills is essential.
You will need to be able to demonstrate experience motivating and leading a small team. Your ability to get the best out of the team will be critical to your success at Staglands. To do this you will need to set goals, develop workplans and training schedules.
The role involves overseeing the following:
• All repairs and maintenance to the park and equipment on site
• All animals and bird husbandry work
• Daily presentation and grooming of the park
• Health and safety of our team and visitors
• Ordering of materials and services needed for maintenance and any development work being carried
• Delivery of ranger experiences, tractor trailer rides and other products
You will need to show:
• Good eye for detail and observation skills
• An interest in wildlife and conservation
• Knowledge of animal welfare issues and current industry best practice
• Good attitude towards your work colleagues and workplace
• Understanding of the importance of health and safety in the workplace
• Good understanding of rural infrastructure
It is a physical job. There is lifting involved and a good level of fitness is essential. You will need to be able to work outside even when the weather wet and unpleasant and be prepared to a roster that includes at least on day in the weekend and some public holidays.
