Transport Services Manager

We have an opportunity for an exceptional Transport Services Manager. This is a full-time permanent role, working at our site in Ardmore Papakura.

Established and operating for the past 22 years, Rosco Bennett Limited is a privately owned company with a successful long-term record in the distribution and logistics industry. Mainly working in steel and construction industry.

We are seeking for a candidate to oversee the Yard, distribution and logistics functions including all operational shifts.

Key Duties:

Managing operations and transport functions supporting a team of drivers and Yard staff
Ensure capacity levels are maintained at an appropriate level to ensure customer service delivery is not impacted and to provide the highest level of customer service
Supervise workloads, schedule tasks and other related functions
Determine staff requirement and recruit as required, followed by training and supervision
Maintain and manage all database record relating to transportation activities
Direct activities related to dispatching, routing for deliveries and deploy drivers
Plan, organise and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in manner consistent with organisational requirements
Determine additional freight and equipment requirement and coordinate purchasing
Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints
Enforce and ensure health and safety rules and regulations

What you’ll need to succeed:

A relevant qualification in business/management
Proven experience of minimum 2-3 years as a Manager within similar field
A good understanding of Yard, distribution and logistics system
Excellent management and planning skills
Excellent communications skills
Efficiently manage a team
Comfortable to work flexible hours
