Description

I'm currently seeking two of the finest employees for the 18/19 season. A
2IC(senior herd manager) and a Farm Assistant.

The farm is located 8mins drive from Greytown, Featherston, Martinborough
with a school bus at the gate.
It is a 1 hour drive to Wellington City.

Rosefield farms is a 340ha operation, farming 500 high bw Holstein
Friesians, 130 calves, 120 heifers. It rears beef calves and carries beef
dry stock.

It is fertile, flat, irrigated land with an intensive regrassing/cropping
program which consists of 110ha getting cropped/regrassed a year. Maize,
barley, kale and new grass. 40,000 trees planted have been planted as
shelterbelts. Rosefield farm was finalist for the Dairy Business of the Year
award 16/17.

The farm runs a simple self-contained system, where we focus on growing,
harvesting and converting our own fodder/pasture giving a low/no stress
environment enabling staff and employers a stable, friendly, supported
environment that we all should enjoy.

The herd only calves in spring time, milked through an automated 40 bale Delaval rotary shed with, automatic cup removers, auto teat spray, auto yard
wash, easy drafting. It is a one person cow shed, so you're not involved
with every milking. Rosefield farm has its own machinery, doing a lot of its
own contracting work. A C'DAX ATV GPS plate meter for your weekly feed
budgets. It also employees separate calf rearer's, a Dry stock manager and
myself (operations manager)

What the successful candidates have to be able to offer:
-Willingness to learn and progress through the dairy industry.
-Must have a love for the dairy industry.
-Reliable, polite, tidy, honest.
-Be able to show a stable work history with at least two references.
-To care and respect for all animals as your own
-Pass regular drug/alcohol tests.
-Eligible to work in NZ and full NZ drivers licence.
-No dogs if wanting to rent on farm.

The 2ic(senior Herd manager) annual salary is $60,000
The farm assistants annual salary is $50,000

Both working an average of 2696 average hours year
