Are you looking for a part-time job that has meaning? This is no ordinary support worker position.
Our 18 year old son has a physical disability that means he needs support to achieve his goals and life aspirations.
This takes a team and the role we have on offer is 10 - 20 regular rostered hours over two – three days - depending on your preference/availability. Thursday and Friday afternoons plus Sundays are where our current gaps exist. Extra hours are also often available during school holidays or to cover for others in the team.
You’ll be working in our home (in Maungatapu), you’ll enjoy dogs (he has an assistance dog), teenage activities (like gaming) and be willing to help him live the same type of life as other 18 year olds. This includes supporting him at the Gym, with homework, shopping, out and about in the community, providing personal cares and it includes some household responsibilities. You don’t need prior experience – but you do need good people skills and able to adapt to someone else’s preferences. All training will be provided.

The successful applicant will have high personal standards with police and drug testing being part of the application process. Pay rate will be at least $21.50/hour but could be higher depending on prior qualifications.
