Our current Case Worker is retiring after nearly 20 years and we are looking for a suitable replacement. As a member of our team, you will work directly with clients of the Wairarapa Community Law Centre to help them solve their legal issues.
You will need to be a people person with good listening, written and oral skills, have sound research skills, the ability to relate to people from all areas of the community, and enjoy working as an integral part of our small team of 3.5 staff and over a dozen volunteer lawyers. A sense of community and humour is essential, and you’ll need a current driver’s licence as well to attend our legal outreach clinics.
Duties of a Case Worker include providing legal information, assistance, support, empowerment, advocacy, and delivering legal education to clients of the Law Centre. An understanding or background in law and legal process in New Zealand (or a quick leaner), would be an advantage.
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
