We are looking for a 2IC & a farm assistant who are hardworking, dedicated & have the will to learn & grow in the dairy farming industry. You will work alongside the contract milker & farm owners in the day to day running of the farm on a 7on 2off roster. The Farm is located in West Otago, 25minutes North of Gore & 10minutes from Tapanui.
The 2IC must have at least 3yrs dairy farming experience, be confident driving a tractor & the ability to make decisions, show initiative & lead by example.
The farm assistant must have some understanding of dairy farming , be able to follow instructions, work unsupervised & ideally have at least 1yrs experience behind them.
The farm is flat to gentle rolling, milking 560 cows in a 40aside herringbone shed with split calving in Autumn & Spring. All stock are wintered on farm in free stall barns.
Roles include but are not limited to milking, fencing, weed control, effluent, silage making, repairs & maintenance.
Applicants must have New Zealand dairy farming experience, must be honest, punctual, reliable, quiet with stock & put the wellbeing of stock first at all times. Inline with workplace health & safety must be willing to undertake random drug & alcohol test.
