Challenging and highly rewarding role for a person passionate about horses.
Due to the nature of the role and the sector (community sports), some evening and weekend work will be required to support meetings and events.

The Woodhill Sands Trust is a charitable trust established by the equestrian sports and recreational riding community to purchase and operate the Woodhill Sands Equestrian Centre (WSEC). The Trust exists to enhance and grow the riding community in Auckland and its surrounds and has owned and operated WSEC since October 2017.

WSEC is situated between Kumeu and Helensville in the Northwest of Auckland and is the principal equestrian training and competition venue in Auckland as well as heavily supporting activity across the top half of the North Island.

WSEC is open year-round as a competition and training facility, hosting its own competition and training events across all equestrian disciplines from grass roots to elite levels, as well as making the venue available to other groups to host their events.

The Trust is currently seeking applications for an Event Manager to join our team. This role oversees the effective day to day operations of our venue. More specifically, the role will:

Be responsible for the planning and co-ordination of our event calendar and event schedules,
organising all the necessary moving parts of our events (including the online entry system, officials and venue/show arrangements),
liaising with user groups hiring the venue to support the effective running of their shows,
coordinating operations on show days and being the key contact point during a show. This is a part of the role that we are open to discussing a possible job share arrangement.

The successful candidate will:

have strong leadership and collaboration/relationship building skills to obtain cooperation and coordination with and between varied groups
provide a solutions focused approach, balanced with a customer centric attitude to understand and deliver on our community and stakeholder needs
demonstrate the ability to manage competing priorities and activities with the capability to plan, coordinate and deliver events that meet the needs of a range of stakeholders
have well-developed organizational skills with a proven track record in communication, planning and attention to detail while being results oriented to deliver on desired outcomes.
