We are a 1600ha breeding/finishing sheep and beef farm 10 minutes West of Masterton in the Wairarapa.
Running 14,000 su (all EID 7300 high preforming ewes + 3000 hoggets +340 Angus cows + 400 replacement and trade cattle) on rolling to steep country that is generally summer safe over 3 properties. Each property has a skilled and motivated manager who is willing and able to enhance your shepherding career.
We have been successful 4 years running at the NZ Golden Lamb Awards, have won The Wairarapa Hill Country Farmer 2005, the Ballance Farm Environment Awards in 2014 and have had several finalist placings in the Steak of Origin. We pride ourselves on being environmentally sustainable and have high ethical farming practices. We are a 3rd & 6th generation farming family.
We currently have a great team of hard working people that have excellent skills to share and enjoy being part of a fun and social business.
We have hunting in the Tararua Ranges on our door step are 2 minutes from the Waingawa river for recreation and trout fishing and 45minutes from the Wairarapa coast.
You will need: -
- 2-3 well controlled working dogs
- Good ATV, ATV-U, tractor skills
- good general repairs and maintenance skills
- excellent stock sense and animal husbandry skills
- you'll need to be competent to work alone or work with our excellent team
- be accepting to up-skilling yourself and learn new & modern farming practices
- have a great sense of humour and be willing to have some fun at work
