Kahuranaki Station is a 1200ha sheep and beef breeding farm approximately 20 km from Havelock North. We run 10,000 stock units comprising of 70% Romney sheep and 30% Angus cows on steep to rolling country with good dog work. We require a shepherd with at least 2 – 3 years experience who has capable mustering skills and at least four fully broken in dogs, basic farm maintenance skills and knowledge, and an understanding of on farm health and safety responsibilities. The successful applicant will show good stockmanship, a willingness to learn and be confident to work both alone and as part of a team. They will also be reliable, punctual, and have good communication skills with other staff members, and hold a current full NZ Drivers Licence.
This position provides a tidy three bedroom house approximately 15 minutes from Havelock North with a school bus service to Elsthorpe School and certain Havelock North primary and secondary schools. There is also a thriving Playgroup at Elsthorpe.
