We are looking for an Experience Shepherd to join our great team at Tautane Station, a large-scale sheep and beef station, located on the East Coast of the North Island.
Tautane Station is a 3,730ha coastal sheep and beef breeding unit, with the capacity to carry out some finishing. The station currently runs 30,000 SU, which includes Romney Sheep and an Angus cow herd. The farm is located 1 hour east of Dannevirke and Waipukurau, in the coastal farming community of Herbertville, where there are plenty of opportunities for on and off farm activities, including fishing, hunting and a local rugby club.
We are seeking an experienced shepherd to join our team of 4 great staff. This role will be an excellent opportunity for the right applicant to progress in their farming career.
The ideal candidate will have:
2+ years’ experience working with sheep and beef in New Zealand,
A team of competent working dogs (4-5 dogs),
An interest in sheep and cattle breeding and development of feed management skills,
High level of self-motivation and willingness to learn,
Positive and high performing work ethic,
Good communication skills and be a team player,
Ability to work effectively within a team dynamic, as well as unsupervised,
Current NZ Drivers License
New Zealand residency or a current New Zealand working visa In return we will offer
