Readlands Farms Ltd is looking for a Farm Manager for next season! This is an exciting opportunity, ideal for someone looking to take the next step up to farm manager!
Readlands Farms Ltd is a family focused business which operates two farms on the one road in Dannevirke, very close to town.
We are looking for 1 new staff member: a farm manager for a 260 cow farm. The farm is flat to rolling, 100ha (91 effective), 24as herringbone shed with ACRs & automatic teat spray.
You will be working closely with the Farm Owner Thomas Read to run the farm on a day to day basis. You will mainly be a sole-charge operator on this farm, but will have the farm owner overseeing. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step up to farm manager. We encourage staff to attend Primary ITO Industry Training, and Dairy Industry Awards, as we are committed to investing in staff who want to progress through the dairy industry.
Key attributes/skills:
*Great communication as you need to work well with a team, and be able to take constructive advice.
*The ability to understand and use technology for communication, recording and reporting.
*A passion for dairy farming, including the industry, animals, farm management.
*Excellent animal husbandry, with emphasis on animal health, mating and stockmanship.
*A proactive can-do attitude, alongside an honest, diligent, personable character. This role is physical in nature.
Accommodation: 4 bedroom house, with 2 bathrooms. House has new carpet, recently painted, new kitchen, heat pump and fireplace.
