Once A Day Milking Farm Seeks A Dairy Farming Couple
Seeking an experienced 2IC for a Dairy Farm located in the King Country.
This is a full-time position for one person with relief milking and calf rearing available for partner.
***Applicants MUST reside in New Zealand and have a current work visa***
The farm milks 600 spring calved cows once a day all season. The milking shed is a 46 aside herringbone with ACRs and auto teat sprayer.
The farm also has a drystock aspect rearing 300 dairy replacements, beef stock and horse studs.
Offering a competitive salary of between $70k - $80k (based on experience) with a three-bedroom house as accommodation charged at $200 a week. The Partner will be on an hourly rate.
Offering a competitive roster of 8 days on, and 3 days off, even during calving and mating.
A normal working day starts at 4.30am and ends approximately 4pm with x2 meal breaks of an hour each.
The area offers an excellent local primary school that goes through to intermediate level with small class sizes providing plenty of one on one time for your child/children. It’s located 3km away with school bus pickup and drop off at the gate.
Great rural community with the Cossie club also located only 3km away.
Located centrally 30 minutes from Taumarunui, 1hr from Te Kuiti, 1hr 20 minutes from Taupo, 1hr from National Park and 1 hr 20 minutes from Mokau Beach.
The area has plenty of hunting opportunities for those who are interested.
Previous farming experience is preferred but willing to train someone who is keen to learn.
This position will lead onto contract milking or a mangers job in the near future as I am hoping to step back from the daily operation of the farm.
A current drivers licence is required.
