An exciting opportunity has become available to join the team at Craigmore Station. There is 2 stations – Craigmore (1300 ha finishing/breeding property) and Grange Hill (2000 ha tussock block), located 20 minutes inland from Timaru. We are currently running 22000su which consist of 7000 Romney/texel ewes, 490 breeding cows and 1200 breeding hinds. The goal at Craigmore is to finish all lambs and deer bred on the property while the Angus steers are sold to 5-star in the spring.
Craigmore is looking for a hardworking and motivated person to join their team. This position would suit someone with 1-3 years’ experience and who is keen to further their career in the farming industry. The job will consist of day to day stock work and general farm duties.
We require an honest and enthusiastic person to join our strong team environment that is willing to learn.
Minimum 1 years’ experience
Good stockman ship skills
Minimum of 4 working dogs
Reliable and punctual
Good communication skills
Hard working attitude
The team at Craigmore consists of the Manager, stock manager, 1 Shepherd and a tractor driver general. We are also running a cadetship programme here with one cadet a year for a two year course.
There will be a freshly renovated three-bedroom house available. Great schools in the area with the bus stop situated at the front gate.
We also offer an opportunity of doing an AgITO course (level 3 or 4) which will be paid for by the station. This will include time off during work hours (where possible) to work on the course.
