Because of their continued growth they have a requirement for an experienced Senior Overhead Line Design Engineer. The successful appointee will join a dynamic team of dedicated people committed to engineering excellence and customer satisfaction. This role could be based out of any of Edison's offices in New Zealand with a preference on either Tauranga or Auckland.

This role involves:
• Line inspections and asset replacement
• Concept and detailed design for 11-110 kV overhead lines
• Field inspection of existing overhead lines
• Establishment of new line routes
• Modeling in CATAN, PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE
• Development of route plan and profile drawing in AutoCAD
• Preparation of pole and cross arm assembly drawings
• Preparation of equipment schedules
• Loading and design calculations

The tertiary qualified candidate will have at least 3 or more years of New Zealand based experience with exposure to utility standards, the ability to use design software packages, and general construction knowledge and aptitude.

Involved in all aspects of distribution and sub-transmission line design for new lines, relocations, upgrades and fiber optic additions, the role covers design for high voltage overhead line projects including line routing, structure spotting, structural analysis foundation design, insulator and hardware selection, conductor and shield wire selection, material specification, client management and technical support for construction.
