Project Engineer/Manager Vacancy
Dormer Construction Ltd works throughout the South Island specialising in Pipelines and in other Civil Works projects. With the main office based in North Canterbury we have an opening for a Project Engineer/ Manager.
You will report to the Managing Director on a daily basis and have excellent communication skills to liaise with site Foreman, project engineers, Client engineers and suppliers. The key skills and ability to ensure the safe efficient operation of the project site works. And systems of work are implemented.
Specific duties will include the following but are not limited:
Safety
• Complete safe systems of work
• Ensure works are being carried out safely and all agreed methodologies / risk assessments / hazard identifications are being implemented
• Emergency response procedures are developed and made available for each worksite
Quality
• Maintain current set of design documents
• Carry out testing and checks as required by project quality plan
• Submit test results in a timely manner
Commercial / programme
• Identify project risks communicate these to project manager
• Ensure works are being carried out in an efficient manner
• Maintain 3 week “look ahead” programme, communicate this to site team at toolbox meeting
• Assist in preparation of monthly progress claims
• Identify variations / potential extensions of time notify project manager
General Duties:
• Maintain personal safety
• Represent the company in a friendly and professional manner at all times
• Travel to remote locations for projects when required
• Any other tasks that may arise from time to time
• Be hands on with a contractor approach
