Due to unforseen circumstances, we are looking for an experienced arable farm worker to join our family farming operation near Temuka. This is a fixed term position starting now until April 2020. There is a possibility that there may be additional work after this time.

The successful candidate will travel to the farm each day, which is located 7 kilometres north-east of Temuka. Main crops grown on our property include ryegrass, brassica seed, vegetable seed, plantain, cereals and onions. Livestock are also integrated into our operation. As part of our farming practice we have adopted precision farming systems, including variable rate of inputs over all our crops during the growing season.
Your duties will include:
Operating and maintaining a modern range
of machinery and plant
Irrigation - laterals & hard hose guns
Fertiliser spreading
Harvest
Livestock
General farm work
If you are motivated, have attention to detail, willing to learn and enjoy working in a team environment but also capable of working unsupervised, we would like to hear from you.You must be flexible with days and hours of work during seasonal peak times. Preference will be given to someone who has licence classes 4 or 5 and forklift experience.
